Wolverine Aussie actor Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra Lee Furness cosy up together as they celebrate Australian Day in NYC.
The pair looked on as the famous Empire State Building was lit up in the Australian colors of green and gold at the official lighting switch on.
Talking of the lightening ceremony in which the actor was honored to be the man to flick that switch, Jackman said: “We have been so embraced here and we are so grateful for it and to be able to celebrate in this way is an honor. Its unbelievable” to which Furness added: “The Empire State Building is such the spirit of new york to celebrate all cultures so i love that theyve taken on Australia”
It seems though that Jackman wasnt always interested in being an action movie star as wife Furness confessed that before his acting took off he wanted to be the next Regis Philbin, a legendary tv anchor who used to host NYC morning show Live! with Regis and Kelly. Not to be disappointed of her now multi-millionaire husband Furness said: “What he does now worked out fine”
